Kolkata South Bengal to experience rain from Monday
Kolkata: The Regional Meteorological Centre at Alipore on Saturday predicted rainfall in all the South Bengal districts including the city for three days from Monday.According to a senior MeT official, rain will be accompanied with a strong breeze measuring around 45-50 km per hour. There is also a prediction of heavy thundershowers in various North Bengal districts. The city may witness intermittent rains for the next three days from Monday onwards. The districts which are expected to receive maximum rainfall are North 24-Parganas, Nadia, Murshidabad, West Midnapore, Purulia and Bankura. The situation may intensify on Tuesday and Wednesday resulting in more rain. There is also a possibility of hailstorms in North Bengal. People in the city and other South Bengal districts may witness moderate spells of rain three days from Monday,” a senior official of the MeT office said. The official also said the situation will improve from Wednesday evening. It may also be mentioned that the spells of rain early this week led to a drop of temperature by a few notches.
