VOTING ON DONEGAL’S ISLANDS DELAYED AFTER HELICOPTER ENCOUNTERS TECHNICAL PROBLEMS

first_imgVoting has been delayed on two of Donegal’s islands after the helicopter carrying the ballot boxes was forced to return to base after a technical difficulty.Tory IslandIt is understood the helicopter, an Augusta Westland 139,  from Baldonnell Airport was not far from Falcarragh when a warning light was noticed on the helicopter.The pilot decided to return to base at Baldonnell and use another helicopter.
