first_img Virgil van Dijk in action for Celtic Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk will not be leaving the club during the January transfer window, according to manager Ronny Deila.The 23-year-old centre-back has been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent weeks and the Gunners have reportedly watched the Holland under-21s centre-back in action on several occasions this season.Arsene Wenger is looking to strengthen his defence and wants to buy the former Groningen star, who signed for the Glasgow giants in 2013.But Deila has confirmed Van Dijk will not be leaving the club this month as he wants to make sure his squad is strong enough to retain the Scottish Premiership title.Ahead of the Bhoys trip to Kilmarnock, he said: “Hopefully we’ll have a good January transfer window and we’ll be strong going into the second part of the league.“Our aim is to keep the players here so we have consistency and to get in players who will make the squad better.” 1last_img
