first_img19th Ranked Razorbacks Too Much for West Florida in 117-43 Exhibition Win Share Nov. 2, 2007FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The West Florida Men’s basketball team took on the 19th ranked Division I Arkansas Razorbacks Friday night and got a taste of a team that may have Final Four talent. Arkansas is picked as one of the top teams in the Southeastern Conference for this upcoming year, and they showcased their skills with a 117-43 win over West Florida in Fayetteville. The Argos shooting was off as they hit on only 26% of their shots, while Arkansas hit everything, finishing the night with a 59% shooting percentage.Michael Washington led six Razorbacks in double-digit scoring with 22 points. Meanwhile, West Florida Guard Ryan Henry (Jr. / Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) poured in 15, hitting on six of his 12 attempts. Lucas Evangelista (Sr. / Buenos Aires, Argentina) added seven points, while Deondre Boynton (Jr. / Pompano Beach, Fla.), Charles Bouie (Jr. / Pahokee, Fla.), and Josh Jackson (Jr. / Madison, Wisc.) all added five points.West Florida was out-rebounded 54-27 by the much bigger Arkansas team, and just didn’t get any easy looks at the basket. A crowd of 9,646 watched as the two teams tuned up for regular season action with the exhibition contest. The Argonauts were able to get 13 different players some experience playing against some of the best in the country. The Arkansas defense forced 29 Argos turnovers, while only committing 12 turnovers themselves.The Argos have one more tune up before the regular season tips off. West Florida will travel to South Alabama next Saturday (Nov. 10) to take on the Jaguars in a game that counts as a regular season game for South Alabama, but is an exhibition game for West Florida.
